Outdoor Maintenance Student - Summer 2022

The City of Waterloo is looking for enthusiastic, energetic and motivated students to join the Outdoor Maintenance team during the summer of 2022. We have several positions available that run from April/May through to Labour Day weekend. Please review the attached 2022 Outdoor Maintenance Students Application Guide for full details on work locations, responsibilities, qualifications, and timelines.

Rate of pay: First year student rate is $16.43/hour, second year student rate is $16.69/hour, and third year student rate $16.95/hour (2022 rates)

Primary Work locations: Positions are based out of various locations across the city include: Waterloo Service Centre, Waterloo Park, Hillside Park, Parkview Cemetery, Bechtel Park, and RIM Park.

Term of Employment: May 2 to Labour Day weekend. Some positions may start the end of April based on student availability. End dates will vary based on the position. Required training will take place between April 18 – 29.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week. The work schedule varies by position, some shift work may be required based on operational requirements, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
